MJ Petrin was born in Biddeford, Maine, and spent his early years in the coastal town of Camp Ellis, where small-town life set the stage for big imagination. At ten, he traded quiet shores for the buzzing streets of Miami, Florida, where wandering downtown became its own kind of education—one filled with colorful characters and life lessons you won’t find in any classroom.

Music was his first love, and in his twenties, MJ hit the road with his brother in a rock band, playing clubs across the country and collecting stories along the way. These days, the amps are turned down, but that same energy shows up in his writing.

Now living just outside Baltimore, Maryland, MJ prefers a quieter pace, steering clear of social media drama and political shouting matches. Instead, he channels his creativity into writing science fiction and adventure stories, often weaving in threads from his own experiences and today’s world to keep his stories relevant, meaningful—and a little unpredictable.
